From the recording Found
“Crazy” is a retro song for those of us who have a few years under our belt, as Harry Chapin put it. The nostalgia of the past, piled up on top of modern technology and the fabric of 21st-century life, modulates back and forth. The tender memory and homesickness, Lily the cat, and all the other bits and pieces of a life, scattered onto the floor like cast tea leaves, gives the listener a canvas to paint their own life story. We hope yours is as colorful as we tried to make ours sound.
Lyrics
I dialed a rotary phone
Had a black and white TV
Now when I get home, if I don’t have 1080P
I go crazy...I could go...
My daddy grew his own (food)
I told him ‘bout the 1080P
He thought I was talkin’ ‘bout
some kind of crazy hybrid seed
Thought I’d go crazy...Thought I’d go..
Well I rolled down my window that day
I threw her last 8-track away
Now when I get in my car if I don’t hear Siri I’ll freak
I went crazy. I did go...
I’d go crazy...I could go...(crazy)
I remember the smell of her
on the seat in the car next to me
Now when I get home if Lily ain’t waitin’ for me
I go crazy...I could go...(crazy)
Now when I get home, if I don’t see Lily, I’ll freak
I could go crazy...I could go...(crazy)
